We got back from vacation a couple of days ago. Yesterday and the day before I had a babysitter who played with the children while I unpacked and organized like a crazy-woman. I can't handle it when things are everywhere & I just wanted it done. It's all done now and I can continue to enjoy the children and the extremely hot weather.
Our vacation was very short, lots of driving and not near as relaxing as I had hoped. We went home for the funeral - which is about 7 hours in the wrong direction. I was so glad that we went. My brother really needed our support. I know he's going to have a huge hole in his life. He really spent so much time with Travis. On Tuesday evening, we started travelling for our vacation. We spent a couple of days at a beautiful lake and spent a couple of days at Drumheller. We went there to watch a passion play (www.canadianpassionplay.com) and it was fabulous! Then we made the long journey home. We hope to get away again in August, as we really need a simple, relaxing vacation.

Sad, Sad Day
I got a call around midnight last night. My brother's best friend, Travis, died. His dad is my dad's best friend and I have known him since I was very little. He was 23 and had cancer. I am grieving for so many things...a life cut so short, my brother (what's he going to do without him?), my dad (it's almost like losing one of your own)...
I am a mess. Maybe got 3 hours sleep last night, tossing and turning thinking of Travis. When I wasn't tossing & turning, Dwayne was. I am finishing up the packing and cleaning today. Tonight is our last night in the house. We were leaving on vacation on Saturday, but not sure what's happening now.

Homeless
We sold our house! The new owners take possession on July 10, but we are on vacation then, so we need to be out by June 29. Yikes!!! Two small children, a pregnant mama and daddy all homeless. We will be living in our RV until our new house is ready to move into. (It's a nice RV, but for 4-5 months? I don't know.) We will park it at Mom & Dad's house, sleeping in it at night and using the house during the day. Mom & Dad long-distance truck so they are rarely home. Woulda worked out perfect for us, although, my brother and his family are moving here and my sister just moved back home. Who'da thought that all of us kids would need move back home...at the same time...with our families?!?!
I'm sure everything will be fine. Now, back to the packing.

Busy Summer
I have not had the time to be posting - sorry to those who keep emailing me, wondering if I'm still alive. It has been very busy for us lately. We just finished up an investment house we've (actually, Dwayne has) been working on. Yipee, it sold and we got the money for it yesterday. It sold so quickly that we were scrambling to get it done in time for possession.
We are also building a house this year for us. Our contractor starts July 15. Yesterday, we showed our house and they are coming back today for another look. We may be homeless until the new one is built.
And, of course, I'm struggling with early-pregnancy exhaustion. Not just a little tired...I mean falling asleep standing up!!
The kids are doing great. It has been really hot here so we've been spending alot of time outdoors enjoying the weather. Dylan got a new bike for his birthday and it has meant 2-3 bikerides a day for us. I enjoy it and certainly need the activity.
Steven (my brother), his fiancee and 14-month-old are moving here on the 5th of June. That is very exciting for me! That's the only thing I still miss about home. Now that they will be here, I don't see many trips home anymore.
That's all for now.

Dylan
You just turned 5. Time goes by so quickly. It seems that just yesterday my belly was huge and I was so worried about how I was going to get you out of there. You were all battered and bruised - the delivery was just as hard on you as it was on me. But you were beautiful! I remember your proud Daddy looking down at you with such awe. Life's little moments.
You are my spitfire boy. You have such a strong sense of what you want already. Your brain works on overtime as you try to figure the whole world out. Your mind has always worked like that. When you were 13 months old, you were obsessed with wheels and how they worked. You weren't even 3 when we went to Disneyland and we had to drag you away from the rides, not only because you wanted to ride them again, but because you were curious if they ran on a track or had wheels or what. How does it work, Daddy?
You are a great big brother. You take good care of Kobe and are very protective of him. That doesn't mean you are always nice to him, but nobody else can cross him. You also know enough to keep him away from things that are dangerous to him.
You are my little helper...laundry, dishes, helping with Kobe, sweeping...you name it, you want to help now. And working on the investment house with Daddy. He even pays you sometimes - hhhmmmm, it's only slave-labour for me!
You love Jesus already & I love to hear you talk to Him like He was standing right in front of you. And Noah and Jonah and Abraham - their stories are all so real to you. Just recently you have started to tell me that you are pretty sure you love me as much as God loves me. I say, 'That's alot, are you sure?'. 'Yep Mom, I know that's alot, but that's me too!' A wink and a great big smile.
Happy birthday, my little man! I love you. I am excited to see you grow into a wonderful man.

We're Having Another Baby!

Here is a picture of when I was overdue with Kobe. Look what I have to look forward to! Every time I look at this picture I am still shocked to see how large my tummy had gotten. How does it stretch this much? Keep in mind, I would not pose for a picture like this if I wasn't pregnant. There is just something about a pregnant tummy that screams to have it shown!
Our new baby is due mid-December. We are very excited! I would love to have 4 boys so we are well on our way. With all the problems that I had with damage from endometriosis, we just need to be thankful everyday for the ones that we have. (Actually, we should be very thankful regardless.)
